After carefully testing the release, due to a few minor issues we have decided to delay the release until far later tonight or tomorrow morning. We apologize for the inconvenience. The server has returned to service under the current patch and we will notify all active players before taking the server down. When we do all data will be saved before the upgrade.

We will be performing our regular Friday upgrade around 7:45 PM Estern time today rather than our regularly scheduled time. All data will be saved right before the server is taken down. The upgrade should take less than one hour to perform.

This upgrade includes 3 new spells, level 2 of the crypts and a few highly challenging evil creatures to fight. The changes will be detailed in section shortly after the release. I will also have a preview of the new game menu at that time as well as a few other updates.

 

I am going to back up the release yet a couple more hours so I can do some testing with the new creatures and crypts before pushing it out. I apologize for the delay.


Bank Charges & Timing Changed

Two issues were fixed this evening both related to in game time.

  1. Time was incrementing to fast approximately 2 real world seconds per game minute, thus an entire day was about 48 minutes. This was too short and when the story of the game come into play it will be more important that days are a bit longer... So we have updated timing to be 4 real world seconds per game day thus making a new day approximately an hour and a half.
  2. Banks now charge 5gp every 90 game days instead of every 7 game days. This is approximately 6 real world days which is much more reasonable :-)

Note that merchant restock will be approximately the same amount of real world time it has been since it was previously patched.


Todays Update & Coming Soon!

Todays update will include the following:

  • Users will now be able to create upto 10 characters until delete functionality is implemented.
  • Bug fix: The clear attack targets (ctrl+c) will work again, last release implemented a new way of choosing the next attacker which caused this functionality to break,

Here is a list of what we will be developing over the next couple of weeks in various game patches:

  • The main game menu  will be re-designed to provide more information and a more intuitive user interface. This will take a couple of weeks to rebuild, the new release will include experience, weight, and hunger status bars. New buttons will also be added that players can use for attacking and basic controls to ease the transition to hot keys for new players. The new menus will provide a new style and many other new features as well.
  • A level 2 will be added to the crypt with more difficult creatures for higher level players.
  • A keep that evil players fight guards and a couple new NPCs will be added to the world.
  • A delete button will be added to the character selection menu that allows you to delete button.
  • The Good barbarian protection skill will be added to the game below are the details available about the skill:
    • A barbarian with the protection skill will be able to protect or take a percentage of damage for a near by ally (another player who is also good). The protected player would still take the difference of the damage.
    • The amount of damage that can be protected is based on your protection skill and faith.
    • If the barbarian is more than a space or two away then he will no longer be able to protect the player or ally.
    • A protection symbol will be shown under a character that you are currently protecting
    • You will be able to target a new protection target at any time or cancel protecting at anytime
