We had another server outage this morning around 10:45 AM Eastern time. The server is back up and running, another bug was identified related to spell targeting which caused the crash and will be resolved in tonight's release.

Tonights release will contain a host of bug fixes on both the client and server as well as some user interface improveuments for life bars and the easy target system. Below is the list of bugs that have been resoled in this coming release:

  1. Fixed: if an object was on a stair the it would not let the player move to the stair above the current one (different issue than previously resolved bug)
  2. Fixed: If you would drag an object to a bank box on the map without opening the box first you would receive an error that the object cannot be placed there.
  3. Fixed: If you would drag an object to a sub container in your bank box without opening it you would receive an error that the object cannot be placed there.
  4. Fixed: Faries will animate Magic Mushrooms again
  5. Fixed: The Rot spell will no longer cause a server crash if it is cast on an npc and the target dies.
  6. Fixed: Characters will not skip spaces unless you are lagging, currently if another player changes directions a lot while walking, the clients movement queue counts each direction change as a queued movement which it should not, causing the client to make the character jump to its immediate spot. This bug was thought previously fixed but the wrong variable was being checked.
  7. Fixed: Some spells were not always rendering at the proper angle or sometimes had a ghost image coming from a different angle after hitting the target, this has been resolved.
  8. UI Improvement: When life bars are toggled on all character types/names will be displayed in small text above the life bar in red, white, or gray text. (Red text indicates an evil target, white good, and gray neutral).
  9. UI Improvement: Moving your mouse over any character will automatically show their life bar and name/type even if life bars are not always showing.
  10. UI Improvement: Life bars and names are automatically shown when you are prompted to target.
  11. UI Improvement: Easy Targeting number now located on the opposite side of character right above their life bar in bright cyan text, so it should be much easier to read.
  12. UI Improvement: Life bars/name text are semi transparent, and upon hovering is made opaque and brighter.

Note: Hunger bar refresh issue upon eating piled food, fixed. (1:27 AM)

UPGRADE SUCCESSFUL game server has returned to service 8:38PM

The new game interface will be released this evening. Below is a summary of the features:

  • 15% more viewable play area and larger minimap
  • Hunger, weight and experience status bars
  • ability to paste text in type textbox
  • Alternate weapon slot on the equipment doll (that can be swapped via hot key/button, or auto equipped on weapon break)
  • A new amulet slot on the equipment doll (Amulets will be available in the next patch after this one)
  • Pack/Satchel slot will be taken off the doll and made a button next to the map. (you will no longer be able to unequip your entire pack which was rarely useful)
  • Buttons for attacking/clear attacking, transparency, and life bar toggling. This is designed to make game a little easier for new players who may not want to set hot keys right away.
  • cleaner more streamlined interface
  • Paste functionality added for text box
  • Text lines from log list can be copied by clicking on them now.
  • Log list offers more intuitive way to scroll.
  • The pack button functions just like the pack that was previously available on your equipment doll, you can drag/drop items on it the same way to add them to your pack or click on it to open your pack.

Notice: In order to put in the new experience bar and get it to work properly I had to go back and recalculate all the way backup to the current experience of  what you should be at for your level. The reason for this is that we have had two differenet experience systems since the beginning of BETA. So players who played before the turnover would have an experience amount that was not consistant/predictable. The experience bar must be able to figure your last level in order to display properly. This was not possible without doing this recalculation. This will NOT effect your level, however you may find your experience points a higher number and your needed experience a higher number, though they will be proportional to each other. You will not result in any experience loss though, for example if your next level requires 9000 experience for example and you are at 8640 then after the update your experience might look like: 23000 for next level and 22640 for your current.
