A few other things to check.

1. Are your graphics drivers up to date? What kind of card is it?

2. Are you running any kind of anti-virus/spyware stuff? False positives can happen... They happen to me all the time at work.

3. Are you running 32-bit version or 64-bit version.

 

I am really stumped on this one since there is no error information available.
