Reinstalling the client fixed the problem, weird.

Hey guys

I'm currently having this issue with the client , i'm wondering if theres a newer fix for it?

Pretty much tried all the posted fixes in this topic but to no avail i'm unlucky seems lol.

First off apologises for not directly pointing out my issue.

I was clearly half asleep this morning when I posted this lol.

Okays,  the issue i'm having is the FROClient.exe stops working pretty much.

The launcher works, I downloaded the content and patchs available and I tried reinstalling the game or repairing etc.

Sorta tried various things mentioned in this topic but to no avail.

Image below pretty much shows the error message.

Ok... that doesnt tell me much but chances are if you uninstalled and reinstalled your not even running the right version of the client anymore. So the first thing I want you to do is the following:

 

1. Uninstall the game

2. Delete the c:\program files(x86)\fantasy realm online directory after uninstalling (this is very important). Then reinstall the game and see if the same thing happens.(Yes Im working on an installer to automatically do this for you! but its not ready yet).

3. If the error persists after reinstalling and repatching then on the troubleshooting tab of the launcher, click the Log OpenGL Errors check box and then try to start the game. After the game crashes see if there is an errors.log file that would appear in the client root directory. If there is one please post contents back here.

Also some other notes: make sure your running the game as administrator. (although I think W7 autoprompts you for this).

Aye I know  it wasn't a whole lot to go on what i posted previously but i'm thankful for all your help.

I followed your steps you posted a fair few times but sadly it doesn't solve the issue.

Also I checked the root directory etc no errors.log was created mate.

 

 

My next step would be to check the windows event logs (application/security/system). See if there are any entries related to froclient.exe after you run it that appear.

I am getting the same error, using Windows 7.  I have tried unistalling and reinstalling as well but that does not work.

Can you check your application/system event logs in windows to see if any additional information was written there?

I could not find any.
