Larger Play Area

The BIG Screen update has been released in 1.7.0. This is a huge improvement for all players but will be especially appreciated by those who have been asking for a larger play area. 

Item Tracking

Along with this update also includes a new item tracker area on the main game window that allows players to drag/drop items there to have their quantities of any items in their pack tracked and displayed to them on the main game window. Players can track upto 12 pileable items. While there are no issues we have found with the control there are a couple of important notes about the item tracking that we are going to note below, both of which are improvements we will eventually be making to the area:

1. Only items in your pack are tracked. Items that you have equipped on your equipment doll are not counted (such as arrows or bolts). We plan on having this resolved in the next update.

2. Healing Salves cannot currently be tracked as they are technically different from other pileable items that are in the game. We also hope to have this fixed in the next update.

Chat Changes

To make better use of screen realestate chatting has changed... To chat with players following this update the player must either click the local/global tabs or press enter to begin chatting. Pressing enter will bring up the chat text box with the currently focused local/global tab having context. Note pressing enter while being focused in another windows text box will not be handled by the global chat.

Other Changes

There are some other minor changes such as moving of health bars and icons for the most part these changes are self explanatory. Two quick click buttons were removed (the attack and page game master buttons). Both these buttons were duplicate functions in the game. We felt it was just easier to double click combatants or press tab to attack and use the help menu at the top to page a game master.

The new client update I previewed about a week ago is nearly complete. I have a few minor tweaks left to finish then I will be turning it over to players for feedback.

Happy New Year!

It has been some time since I had time to work on a major update for the game but over the holidays I found some time. 

The current update I am working on is a major update to the client giving players something they have asked for, for a long time. Greater use of the screen and bigger play area! The play area alone is bigger than the whole window is in the current version of the game.  Below is a preview of the new game window layout.

You will notice the new layout is more effecient and offers a new item tracker view to keep track of how much of each item pile is on your character.

Another major change is that to access chat the local/global tabs must be clicked or you must press <enter> to access the chat. the goal is to simplify the interface and hot keys in the future as well though that will not be in this release. 

I am about 70% complete with the update... Some buttons at the bottom right are also going to be removed to simplify the layout and there are some other adjustments to overlays that still need to be completed. So we are likely a few weeks out before being able to release this but I wanted to let everyone know I am doing my best to get back at it!
