do i have to download something or what.
I have been doing graphics testing on various test machines over the past week getting ready for an early preview release. Over all the results have been good, Mainly I have been testing on ATIs and Intel Extreme Graphics cards. I have not had the oppurtunity to test on any nVidia cards yet but I do not forsee any issues with them.
However there are some issues with some of Intel's models including:
Intel Extreme Graphics 82845G
Intel Extreme Graphics 82865G
Note: there may be other models affected but have been untested.
Issue Symptoms -Blurry Text
-Discoloration
-Invalid gridlines rendered to the map
*see picture below for example
Explanation I have talked to several other D3D experts on Microsoft's forum but no true solutions have been produced. The issue is believed to be caused by either a rounding error, bad angle or bad pixel offset related to these cards.
You may see this problem on ATI cards if you have "Alternate Pixel Offset" compatibility enabled. (by default this option should be off, unless you manually set it for another game)
Workarounds 1. There will be an option as a workaround that reduces the lines that are shown and improves text fuzziness but will not totally illimnate the problem.
Possible Solutions 1. Try downloading the newest drivers for your video card from intel.
Please feel free to post any other solutions you found to be helpful by replying to this message.
