Title: My first impressions

Hi, this is my first day in game, and this are the things that, in my opinion, should be improved.
I start by saying that this is a very good or even perfect game if we think about the resources it has and the fase of production that it is.
So, this are the sereval things that I found that I would like to see changed/improved/implanted:

  • Combat speed - the attack/defense of the player/monster is too slow which can be sometimes frustating ;
  • Respawn time for monsters - monsters respawn too fast, which can be challenging for a player which cause the player to run away or die ;
  • After the players death the time waiting for the ress be avaliable is too long (3 minutes by my counting) ;
  • Another ress respawn area, because new players ress far away from Dragonhead ;
  • Add of a quickbarove  for spells abthe chat, so mages can easily choose the speel they want ;
  • I noticed that doors, sometimes don't open right ahead and sometimes the player movement will stop, although this can be in fact a problem with my connection only ;
  • Absence of a storyline, this is one, if not the first thing I noticed, for example, what brought our character to Dragonhead? ;
  • A tuturial with all the aspects of the game which should end with a quest that should lead us to our first quest in the "public" world - this also would be a great chance to create a storyline ;
  • Orientation and quest level improvment, no quests in the first five levels which forces us to grind instead of giving us a good perspective of the game by questing ;
  • Add of the attack hit points (for example above the player/monster) ;
  • Creatures can only be found inside closed places, should be some monsters in the open too, it also would be a great improvment for quests.

This are the issues that I observed on my first hour or so playing.

Of all of this issues the one that I gave more importance was the story/lore one, specially because I saw a picture of the player defeating a dragon in the front page and I would be expecting a great storyline, a thing that I did not found or that I missed.

Thanks for reading, see you in game,

Derethar

PS: If you need a story for your world I have alot of ideas, and I can help whenever needed. Overall, great game and it will surely improve over time.

Title: Re: My first impressions

Ok I think you have a lot of valid points here see my responses below:

Combat speed - the attack/defense of the player/monster is too slow which can be sometimes frustating ;

This improves greatly as you gain levels, when we release the first level will have experience half of what it is to help curb this, as well we will also be giving out a few more stat points at start to curb this issue as well but no matter what I think the first couple of levels will always be a little more difficult in terms of combat. Perhaps some intro quests can be good for experience in the beginning as well.

Respawn time for monsters - monsters respawn too fast, which can be challenging for a player which cause the player to run away or die ;

I think it depends where you are fighting there are a number of areas where there is one or two zombies/ratmen to start fighting. Also in closed in places like the crypt try blocking them in door ways if you become overwhelmed. I think as we add more locations and more things to fight this will become less of an issue.

After the players death the time waiting for the ress be avaliable is too long (3 minutes by my counting) ;

Death is intended to be a penalty... however 2 minutes may be satisfactory with this.

Another ress respawn area, because new players ress far away from Dragonhead ;

There is a church you have potential to ress at right next to dragon head, currently it is random on which church you end up at. and perhaps an option in the future would be allowing you to choose. There will also be a kind of quick travel available via portals sometime soon.

Add of a quickbarove  for spells abthe chat, so mages can easily choose the speel they want ;

This one will probably be tackled sometime next month. we are planning on adding a spell bar/item bar to help new players get started more easily. Next month we will be focusing on interface improvements and tutorials a good bit.

I noticed that doors, sometimes don't open right ahead and sometimes the player movement will stop...

You can set a hot key to open doors in front of you automatically when you hold the hot key down. There will be sometimes you dont want to open doors in front of you :-) trust me.

Absence of a storyline, this is one, if not the first thing I noticed, for example, what brought our character to Dragonhead? ;

I do appreciate your offer on the storyline, we do infact have one fairly developed from a high level. Sure some of the details need worked out but that can be done as we go. It hasnt been a focus this year because we have had so much work to do on the functionality. This will become more a focus focus in late february or early march.

A tuturial with all the aspects of the game which should end with a quest that should lead us to our first quest in the "public" world - this also would be a great chance to create a storyline ;

Absolutely, I agree, tutorails of some kind will be a focus in january as part of a UI controls refinement. At first we will probably cover a lot of the basics in the tutorial.

Add of the attack hit points (for example above the player/monster) ;

A life bar is provided.... Do you mean when you hit the monster show how much you do?

Creatures can only be found inside closed places, should be some monsters in the open too, it also would be a great improvment for quests.

There are a several spawn points outside (forsts, swamps, orcs, reptile warriors, deer, wolves etc), this will increase when we add in the goblins and some other critters in.

Thank you very much for your contribution of recommendations... it is very good and helps us know what players are looking for and what priority should be placed. I confirm a lot of your concerns in another thread below and our intentions of correcting them.

We do ask for patience as we can only do one thing at a time which is truely our biggest limitation. We do take requests seriously and work to satisfy our players.

Thanks

Chris
