Title: A new Website Design

Hello Everyone! :D My name is Cosmin and I'm from Romania . I found this game on a mmorpg's website , I saw 2-3 screenshots with it, and I love it! :D .  I'm working in Web Developement about 5 years (html, css, php(procedural+oop),work with databases (mySQL+PDO) , graphics - Photoshop) . I want to help you guys, actually, I want to see hundreds of players on this game, so, a new website design I think is the first step to success :) . If can I help with this, please leave me a message here, I will check everyday by 3-4 times :) . Thanks and keep working on it!

Some of the website is coupled with the game server so it is not as easy as just picking up and developing for. We were trying to go with a clean style for our website and I think overall we have accomplished it. Sure it could use some more "Flare" and hopefully that will come though are primary focus is the game.

One great way to help support the game would be to build a community or fan site with how to videos and we could potentially even provide some web services to you for server stats and such...Something to think about. Let us know?

Sure, I can help anyway . What I need is just details .

If I have to create a fan site where can be found server stats , ranking pages etc , I think just some data generated with jSON is enough, then I can create a simple cache system with an auto-update and, that's it but is not the only way, is just an example.  About a game community website, I'm sure you would like to work directly with it, I don't know if is the best option to split out players in 2 places (official website and community website) these 2 things should be like one , but I can do it anyway , just sayin np ;) .

So I wait for a decision and project details , and that's it...  :)

Tell me as a player what kind of stats would interest you? Server Up/Down? Players online? Most active players? Number of players  that have been under each class? Player Acheivements Earned? Player Screenshots? Obviously I want to respect the privacy of players. Perhaps for additional information I can add a setting under account settings to allow players to publish skill/stat info. Just let me know and I will write the code nessecary to provide the data in XML format.

Its easiest for me to provide you raw XML data from a URL, hopefully you can work with that?

Really a site with tons of how to articles/videos and just some videos for fun would be a huge benefit.

well, as a player..

yes, Server ON / OFF , Rankings (order by hours played, level, class etc), guilds, player achievments of course, screenshot is too much I think, maybe if you can export somwhow an image with the character , a .jpg, .png any format, then I can use it to show the character, and items details, (this I think should be a privacy setting with a choose yes/no ) . What I would like to see on website as player, are aditional informations like, last updates, events etc.

Ok I will see about putting some of these together for you. The hours played isnt currently recorded. The rest should be doable.

Give me some time and I will get back to you in a few days to a week on some of these.

Here are some basic stats for players to get you started. These are all what I consider "public" stat information. You can pull data in XML format at the following URL.

http://www.fantasyrealmonline.com/PlayerStats.ashx?Server=Moon%20Haven%20Test%20World

The data is sorted simply by player name, I recommend doing a pull 2 - 4 times a day and import it into MySQL/MSSQL to do any data analysis you want on it. Every time the server saves (approx once an hour) these stats will be updated.

Note this is implemented with our test server and I will push it to our production server soon enough. You will only need to change the Server query string parameter to "Moon Haven" to pull production data once implemented there.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I will work on some additional data for you over the next week.

Nice job Chris. Now, just tell me exactly what I'm doing, a fan website or an official one? Because I have to create the design I must know what content will be .

Example, for a fan website I will not create a login system because will be useless, maybe just for posting comments at news but what news.

And the second thing, If you have some specific preferences like colors, special pages , etc .

I would call it a community website but part of that is up to you since you are the one building it. I will certainly provide a link to it... what I feel would be most beneficial and help grow the games is the following:

1. A place where players can learn about the game and how to play it (This is where Id love to see some tutorial videos/articles show up). As well as some videos covering exploration, tips and tricks etc...

2. Along with that Id like to see some kind of playguide built, perhaps something in wiki fasion that players can openly maintain

3. A place where players can show off their player stats/acheivements, share ideas/thoughts and interact with other players etc...

4. Taking some of the community burden off of my site would be great as it is difficult to keep up with everything I have to do for the game. Moving some of the play guide/community functionality off the site would allow me to focus my efforts more on the game.

You are welcome to utilize logo or if you would like certain game assets (ie some of the character artwork) etc. for use on the website. Please let me know.
