Yes and Yes.... The more you have you receive bonuses for spells and have a better chance of casting successfully. However it is important to remember though that the skill is neutral and less powerful than black or white magic.

 

BTW did you get your client working again?

Understood, did you change anything on your end to get it working? if you dont mind posting what you changed it would be appreciated, since others might have the same issue, I would like to have an answer to that issue.
