Title: Skills over stats?

I was wondering why someone would max certain skills?

Lets take Mundane Magic for example.  The highest skill requred is 90 for Fire Ring, so why would you want 200 in the skill?  Does the skill also increase damage in any way or form, or is it just for success in casting?

Yun, when you raise a skill, at all it, increases it overall use. With schools of magic it increases the overall effectiveness of a skill or spell. As you know some spells require a certain level in skills along with stats.

I’d assume it's success of casting along with a portion of damage; you may want to hear a second voice on this though.

Haze is correct most spells are weighted by skill, and (intelligence or Meditation depending on if its primarily a magic based spell or spirit based spell). So that is why you may want to consider to get 200. Only about 50 -60 percent of the spells are currently in the game right now.

Thanks
