Not dissing the concept, its good and important. Without Bola's it would be almost impossible to actually kill someone who doesnt want to die. UNLESS THEY HAVE BOLAS TOO. Since it breaks on damage its a lot easier to bola and run away than bola and attack. Bola is too damn effective for a 50 skill req, i think thats when you can throw axes anyways.

Bola should be for Rogue, Barb, Ranger only. Either increase skill to be out of knight/mage reach or set class requirement. Mages with bola's would have an instant snare to use between each nuke, easily worth the skill slot. 

Knights are hard enough to kill without an instant snare, they can basically run away healing and make it home before you kill them. As far as offensive PKing, they get ranged nukes. But i think its safe to say Knights should suffer in the offensive pk department when they are probably the hardest to pk ! Cant win but cant lose.

Could use longer cooldown between throws !

it should work like explo pots cant throw while running and some delay

That would kind of make them useless for chasing ! Besides, throwing weapons need the momentum of running ! That would be a cool gimmick, make them do more damage if you're moving, so standing still reduces throwing damage...

The delay is much longer than reg throwing item. I think maybe raising the skill req over 100 might be a good idea. That would limit the use or require amulet by other classes.

Explosive potions are currently 125 but require 100 and thats going to be fixed? Knights can 100 throwing, so with legendary amulet they could use Bola and that might be fair. I know throwing spears are still on the way but Javalins are sort of a Knight thing. Trying to think of a cool 200/200 throwing skill, you had the idea to throw mainhand weapon and have it return? Could be fun.

I got pwnd by Khor and Bola are just too stroong lol run and stun ? we cannot even escape if you play it right  

i did not try it mysefl but throw bola throw dagger or w/e with poison on it throw explo pots ?  

 

chris if you dont want this to be overpowered make it as explo pots cant throw bola while running it ridiculus

Hi Billy,

 

Thanks for your feedback, there is a 5 second delay on bolas... much longer than an average throwing weapon. If needed I can certainly make it longer. Give them a try if you havent on your barabarian and provide some feedback, Id really like more than one person feeding me feedback on them; so far it has only been khor.

ok but the problem is you cant run away lol the only way to survive is if he run away LOL but we will see what other player think

The issue is if you give them an effect similar to purple potions I am afraid that would nullify there effect. So something may need to be done to balance them. adding an additional delay might work as well

Make them heavier than .05 lbs? I can carry hundreds. Also he got pwned by Khor because Khor was COMPLETELY prepared for him, i had all the potions and poisoned daggers and it was still a good fight, a couple times i had to back out and in which seems to be the case for both of us. With the latency on walking/striking it seems like the only way i could secure a hit was with a Bola. Hell i even laid a bunch of traps and he ran through them xD didnt get to see it happen but even Bola didnt let me catch him before he was healed. The bola also has a 1/5 fail chance because of Dodge.

Also goes back to my point on Wizards lack of gear dependency, i was risking a REALLY nice axe and a full set of armor to combat a wizard in plain leather and a Hardskin potion.

 

Further, he was using Ensnare on me too which is effective for hit and run BUT, and this might be intentional, the Feedback Shield breaks snare on me when i strike him. So when he had feedback on and snared me, i could throw a dagger at him and take feedback damage that breaks the snare. Trying to kill a knight w/ Bolas is a whole different story since hitting a running target is all but impossible, a succesful Bola usually means getting one hit in before they take off again and they'll be full hp before the next bola lands.

Its really important to note that once someone is out of melee range, THEY ARE OUT RANGE, and can salve/potion until full HP. Bolas bridge this gap (knights dont get/need bola since if their enemy is healing up they will too, they wear enemies down)

Lastly, some of the fights were quite close and a better selection of spells could of been what he needed, he only attacked with Rot/Poison and Fireball, (im in dragon scale!) and no Dark Bolt or Dark Flux. Lots of factors involved, if escape is what you want then time your ensnare right after i throw a bola, if i resist then thats a whole different issue.
