Hello everyone :) Found FRO on a random forum on Google and I'm so glad I did. I am having trouble with one thing though. I'm running and alien ware laptop I bought back in 2009 so I should be able to run this game fine, Yet when I enter the Village Dragon Head the fog gives me really bad lag and somtimes I get lag in any town wich I Don't mine to much the the fog is horrible and wont let me walk anywhere. Is there an Option to turn fog or weather effects off?

I will get an option under map settings for that next release. You may also want to try running the game in fullscreen in the meantime; sometimes that can help.

Playing in full screen helped a little but still getting the lag when im in town or near buldings its completely fine in caves and in the crypts just when im near towns or fog... No idea why its doing it :( Just watched your videos. Very nice.

Think I'm gunna go back to UO atleast for a while can't hanndle playing with this lag it bugs the hell outa me died so many times from goblins because I lag near buildings :) I'll log on every know and then see if it changes for me.

Sorry to hear that I will see if I can do some further optimizations; it is on my agenda any how. I am not sure what kind of Video Card you have in your laptop but it does make a significant difference.

A few other things you could try to improve performance:

1. Raise Video usage in options to 128 (The thought here is that your drive in your laptop might be slow and your game could cache more graphics in memory.

2.Change your full screen resolution to something lower.

3. On the map tab turn down forward drawing to Medium or Low.

4. This ones out there but Ive seen this also help with strange drivers... Start windows media player and run the game; One person who was having issues reported a double in performance. This is certainly an off case and I tried to research this issue but couldnt find much information.

okay I'll give everythink a shot and see what happens... Just cant see why I would geet problems when I can run WoW and skyrim. I dunno but ill give it a go.

What type of video card are you running? what is your cpu? It would help me optimize if I knew exactly what the source of the issue is. type /fps true... stand still in the city what is your frame rate.Then walk/run, is it a choppy lag or is it more like your guy is running in slow motion?

I have a couple nice optimizations. I think they are going to help you a lot (a long with other players)... I am hoping to have them done this weekend.
