Title: Greetings, A few questions please...

First off, I must say that upon entering the game I was reminded of UO (and that is a good thing). I walked around town for a bit to get the "feel" of things and my hopes are pretty high right now.

-That said, I do not like linear quest grinders and am far more exited about any sandbox qualities that this game offers. The very fact there is a Merchant Class is a nod in the right direction. But is this a sandbox? Do I need to complete the quests of fetching woozles for somebody who is having every player fetch these same woozles? Do I have to kill 10 bunny rabbits to return for a reward and advance thge "story" (the same story everyone is going through-) OR can OI avoid the questing all together and do what I wish (without missing out on vital gear or elements of the game)?

I would also like to know abut the mehod of payment- Is this going to offer a standard sub (I hope) or a Cash Shop (game killer to me). I am more thanb willing to pay a sub for a game I enjoy and prefer that method of payment. I want everything included for $10-$20 month and not "piecemeal"- I enjoy a level playing field.

And last- How do I report bugs in this Beta? I have already found a few blatant Typos in the Wizards starting town.

Anyhow, I usually do not bother with Forums at all and I usually play a game for a night and decide its handholding/carebear/themepark "Free to pay" Garbage- I am not seeing this here. I am seeing...HOPE. So any answers and guidance would be apprecited. I plan to spend some time in game this weekend and will check these forums periodicly... If this is going to have a Cash Shop I would be wasting my time but if its sub based I am interested in at least a month or two to see where this goes.

-Good job devs- I think you may have something here-

Title: Re: Greetings, A few questions please...

I am glad to hear you are enjoying the game so far... (or at least have some hope :-))

Indeed this is a sandbox style game (IE Open Play)... Quests are optional to do, though there maybe some benefit to doing some of them, such as getting an extra stat point on the max but for the most part they are pick and choose, if you decide not to follow the quest storyline you wont be requried to but it may limit other quests that are available in the future for you. The other thing we try to do to ease the quests for people who are not questies. Usually quests are short and direct, there is not usually a lot of beating around the bush with them. Try to make all quests 10 - 30 min unless the quest is intended to be a puzzle type quest, as there are a couple.

We also spent much time on the pvp system in the game for players who enjoy good pvp. There are three main allegiances (good/evil/neutral) and we will be implementing a guild system in the coming months. PvP is totally open after level 30 right now, though we may consider having a 10 level rule between level 30 - 60. Though we will be testing it out first though...

On the payment method... For a basic account the game is free, You can create 3 characters and cannot purchase a house/property, you still get access to a shared bank between your characters. For a onetime payment of $5.00 you will be able to upgrade your account to a premium account and get 5 character slots and own a single property or for a one time payment of $10.00 you will be able to upgrade your account to an ultimate account and get 10 character slots and own up to two properties. Account upgrades should be ready by the end of July or beginning of August.

As far as the cash shop goes, there will be a limited cash shop that only sells convenience and lunxary items but nothing that would provide extra power that could not be gotten in the game by any player. For example we will be selling gold/experience at a relatively high cost, both acheivable if you are willing to spend a little time and enjoy doing that.  Other types of items will include special furniture for housing or special dye kits.

We want everyone to have fun playing the game but in a balanced way. I would prefer a per month fee myself but unfortunately the market doesnt support it right now.

As far as bug reporting please use the page button to report bugs and post them to the player's helping player's forum that way they do not get lost.

Please let us know if you have questions while playing, we apologize for the incomplete player's guide. We are working to improve that.

Very cool- It sounds like you guys have a very solid plan here- I thought it was pretty cool that I recieved an in game alert to my post being replied to =P

Yes, I am really , really likng what I am seeing here. Surprised I hadnt heard of this until now. There is an audiance looking for this game, people who have been without a game since the good old days of pre WOW (not that I didnt enjoy WOW) a Virtual World to play in. I am very impressed for what its worth and will be doing my part to spread the word. I think $10 is a bargain and so long as you truly do not put Pay To Win items in the Cash Shop I would gladly support you guys with what I would normally pay in a sub.

Damn, I am thrilled- I certainly didnt think I would have an MMO to play this weekend-

-Thanks.
