Title: Charms/Blessings/Curses (Thoughts)

A player may have upto 3 charms, blessings or curses applied to them.

  1. Only evil may have curses applied to them.
  2. Only good may have blessings applied to them.
  3. Any player may have charms applied to them.

A charm provides a one time use of a free effect and requires no resources. A charm may only be received over so many game days depending on the charm and its effect. Some examples of blessings or charms might be:(Names are not final)

  1. Blessing: Spiritual Revival - Restores SP to full. Could be useful too players without concentration
  2. Curse: Spell Block - Prevents a player from casting spells or using prayers for ~15 seconds
  3. Charm: Time Walk - Allows a player to immediately exit to a travel stone area (travel stones will be in a later patch). Useful to escape combat...

When you say "applied to them" do you mean they are the only ones who can cast it, or they are the only ones who can be affected by it?

 

And I think 15 seconds is a bit much for something that would completely shut down spell casting.  I like the idea of them all though.

applied meaning you can use it. two people can have the same blessing/curse/charm, but you may only get them every so many days after using them, they are a one time use.

15 seconds might not be the right time maybe it should be 5 - 10. Not sure, this is just a concept at this point.

Why not allow evil people to curse neutral/good people and good people to remove the curses. I could see a plethora of interesting curses such as "Gorlax's Crafting Failure Curse" (an additional 10% craft failure- Or "Zenibada critical  idiot curse" (make typos happen so communication becomes difficult in chat) Or " Crowleys Critical Failure Curse" (gicves a -2 to hit) or "Zarmaks Life confusion" which makes your health bar always appear full.

Give a very high XP or level cost to the person Cursing/removing curse (for serious Magicks) and have somne fun with it. Even dumb shit with no game bearing (sex change for 24 hours) could be a riot.

Damn man, utilize the in game calender. Some curses can only be applied on certain moon phases- Some require very rare ingrediants.

The Good side could remove these curses and finding a Gooid skilled Wizard will MEAN SOMETHING. Good Wizards should also be able to cast protective magicks to proactivly keep curses from happening.
