the game has been patching for the last 40 minutes and I've just reached 8% on Patch Number 100.
Due to my average download speed I can safely assume I am downloading over 20 GB worth of content?

Back to being serious. The first patcher, the basic one with just a play button completed all six downloads in seconds. Switching to the new patcher it is now taking me ages. I've read that the servers may be effected by too much traffic and I have no problem with that. But what I would like to know, or maybe even see is the size of these patches and with what speed I am currently downloading them. But right now, just the size.

Does anyone has any answers, maybe some reassuring word of some kind?
I'd appreciate it.

You may have gotten connected to our secondary patch server which is much slower. I recommend disconnecting and try connecting again, you should connect to our primary unless there is an issue with it which is much faster.

I am worried about corrupting my current patch since I do not know how this will effect the game files. Some patchers I've come across first download the files into a temporary folder and after the patch has been completed apply them to the game folder.

But since I've come across this error while trying to exit the patcher, I was lead to believe that the patcher executes changes in real time.
I will wait for the completion of the first patch download, then try to reopen the Launcher.

Just to provide some feedback,
 

the patcher does first download the Patch then Apply it, just like with other Launchers I've come across.
And it seems that for the rest of the Patches I was routed to the Primary Download Server as it all finished in less than five minutes.

The first patch is also much larger than the rest, when you download the game. Granted it shouldnt take an extreme amount of time to download, Maybe 15 - 30 minutes total for the whole patch. you are just downloading a shell with no content. The game was originally built to support any kind of world with various rulesets.

Same here, patch 1/10 version 100 is taking forever.

After all is done I look forward to playing this game with you all.

We put up a new patch server and decomisioned the old one so while the first patch is still large it shouldnt take nearly as long as it used to.
