Title: patching error at 1.6.3a

Greetings All

I recently downloaded the game but in the launcher when updating, it cant get past 1.6.3a and will refuse to download any more patches. Ive tried resetting the patches but it always get stuck and stops on 1.6.3a. Any help would be grealy appreciated. Game looks great!

=====UPDATE===========

So i uninstalled it, then reinstalled it. Tried running the game, it downloaded some patches with a different looking launcher, then i get a message on the screen that says "please upgrade to the 0.9.8.0 client to continue. Go to www......"

So i open the 0.9.8.0 installer i had originally downloaded and selected repair. It did something for a minute then said Fantasy Realms online is now installed. Even though the launcher looks different now, im still not able to get past 1.6.3a.

=====UPDATE===========

Ok so in the FRO directory i found FROClientPatcher.exe.new

So i backed up the FROClientPatcher.exe and removed the .new from FROClientPatcher.exe.new. It comes up as yet another and different looking launcher, but i get the msg

"Error Retriving Screen Shots: System.XML.XMLException: ReadElementContentAS() methods cannot be called on an element that has child elements. Line14, position 13. At system.xml.xmlreader.SetupReadElementContentAsXXX(stringmethodname) at system.xml.xmlreader.setupReadElementAsString() at FROClientPatcher.PatchDialog.GetScreenshots()"

the error you list below should be working properly now... I reccommend resetting your client patches using the troubleshooting tab on the patcher if you reinstalled the client... You likely overwrote some files that were patched.

Thank you for your quick response,

Unfortunately im still getting the same error. Ive since done clean installs, downloaded the zip file you uploaded to a similar thread in the forums thats titled Moon Haven that has the content, patches and previews folders in it. Ive moved the contents to the appropriate directory. Instead of getting the patch error now im a different error with the launcher which ive pasted below. Also the launcher is stuck at "Fetching New Client Patch Entries"

When i close the program it still shows up in the task manager under processes and have to end process. Otherwise there will being multiple FROClient.exe's from reattempting the patching process thru the launcher

Yes, as soon as i double click the shortcut for FRO the launcher pops up and i get an little window that says "The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occured on a recieve"  The Play button is greyed out and theres a error above the progress bar next to play that says "Patching Failed To Complete...Click The Help and Troubleshooting tab for additional information."

I'm getting the exact same error. Same exact dialogue box too. Happens on patch 1.6.3a.

Reset the patches, and reinstalled the client, all the same error at the exact same patch.

If you are going to reinstall the client then you have to delete the Patches directory from your Fantasy Realm Online directory or your patcher will get hosed.

Really you should:

1.  uninstall

2. Go to c:\program files (x86) and delete Fantasy Realm Online folder

3. Reinstall

and see if that will work better for you now. I just ran through the entire process to see if I could reproduce your issue.

I did those things, and I'm still getting the same error. Same patch, 1.6.3a. I got it to start loading once, but it cut out and I haven't been able to get it to do it again since.
